My Story

After growing up in Sterling, Michigan and graduating from Central Michigan University with a Business Administration degree; my husband and I decided to make Caledonia our home nearly 25 years ago.

We have three wonderful girls who attended Caledonia schools, with my oldest daughter, Macayla, sadly passing away in a car accident her junior year. She did receive an honorary graduation certificate and I am proud to have had the support of the Caledonia Schools and the community during that awful time.

I have been a banker at Fifth Third Bank (formerly known as Old Kent Bank) for a total of 31 years in various roles. For most of those years, I worked at the local Caledonia branch serving our community.  I’m currently with Fifth Third’s Wealth and Asset Management group, assisting our seniors, retirees, business owners, professionals, and other clientele with their future financial planning and protecting them from fraud.

I currently attend One Church GR located here in Caledonia and enjoy spending time with friends and family in our pool,  playing pickleball and corn hole, and watching softball.

I have years of experience serving and volunteering in the Caledonia community on different boards and committees over the past 25 years.

 Some of the positions include:

Caledonia Kiwanis

Caledonia AMBUCS

Caledonia Education Foundation- Treasurer/President

Caledonia Athletic Boosters- Treasurer/President

Junior Achievement

Other volunteer activities that have been near and dear to my heart include:

2024 Senior All-Nighter Fundraising Committee

Hold Me Back Mac for the Macayla Lee Kohn Scholarship

Ele’s Place Community Board in Grand Rapids

Brightside Church- Finance Team Leader and Worship Team leader

Because of my management and banking background, along with my organizational, leadership, and listening skills, I am prepared to work hard to earn the trust of the students, teachers, administration , and the community.  I hold myself accountable to maintain and value honesty, integrity, transparency, and respect.  These are characteristics that are integral to model for our students as we teach them long lasting life skills.

My Purpose

Running for school board is an honor as I continue to seek ways to serve Caledonia and its residents. I believe that maintaining a high level of excellence in our schools and focusing on the fundamental teachings of Math, Science, Technology, English, and History will provide an education our children can learn and grow from. We need to work together to achieve this, and I hope to help facilitate the gathering of facts, listening to different viewpoints, and encouraging cooperation to collectively reach solutions that benefit both our children and the community. I do not take these decisions lightly as our youth will ultimately determine our community’s future.

There are four priorities that I will be focusing on:

1.  Defend Parental Rights

2.  Uphold Fiscal Responsibility

3.  Promote Life Skills and Trades

4.  Focus on the Fundamentals

I am asking for your vote on November 5th, as we strive to make Caledonia the #1 school system in the state!
